The waiter was VERY rude we waited 45 mins for food that was horrible. Half of it we didn't eat and when asked for a discount the rude waiter also checked us out and he flat out rudely said NO! I wouldn't even give it one star if I didn't have to we will NOT be back

To be fair, we were there during the Festival of lights. However, we had the worst service I've experienced, anywhere.
Great small town diner style breakfast ... "breakfast nook" name fits perfect. If you're looking for "breakfast at Brennans" then this won't be your place... but that's the point. Natchitoches small/college town feel... started right with "basic breakfast" or "big boy breakfast" at The Breakfast Nook.
Food was good, but it took over an hour after our order was taken. Our drinks came out one at a time. The last drink, ordered when we sat down, came out with the check.
Walked in and were totally ignored for 5 minutes before finally being seated. Waitress finally came to take our drink order after we waited for 10 minutes. Restaurant was only half full. After another 10 minutes or so she shows back up for our food order. We waited an hour for our food to come out (2 breakfast burritos, hasbrowns, and toast). Never saw our waitress again. I finally got up and found a waiter who said very rudely he would “check on our order”. Never saw him again either. We finally threw $5 on the table to pay for our drinks and went to sonic. Wasted an hour and a half of our one day vacation.
