As a new client I walked in expecting a good experience due to reviews. The staff did not greet me nor did they bother introducing themselves. When I tried to engage in conversation about my kitten being crippled, I was cut off. They didn't bother getting a history on him before his neuter. I'm not sure if it was a bad day there or if that is normal but first impressions matter and theirs was not good. Will be looking for other veterinarians in the area.
We always have a pretty great experience here after several other local vets failed to provide us with proper treatment (or treating us like walking dollar signs). Dr. Pesnell is great--a pleasure to talk to and wonderfully knowledgeable. I do think that the staff could use a lesson in empathy and customer service, but overall they're not bad. We have been very happy with our care here!
The vet, Dr. Pesnell, the techs and receptionist are great. I highly recommend them. Late and small animals treated with respect and empathy.
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BRING YOUR DAY HERE. The service is terrible. They do not care about your animals. I had a 8 month old tea cup chihuahua and sadly she got parvo around Friday. We did not figure that out until Sunday. We brought her to a emergency vet in alexandria and got told that she was positive for parvo. They are only an emergency vet so we had to pick her up and have her transferred to a vet in natchitoches. She had a 75%-90% chance of living but the vet here decided to not give her antibiotics and claimed that her antibiotics were in her iv fluids. Which they were not because we called and talked to the vet In alexandria. And she died at the vet somewhere between 2am-8am this morning and he did not call is until almost 9:30 and they open at 8am and a vet tech gets there at 7am they should check on all the dogs as soon as they get there especially a hospitalized dog that is very sick. Yes she had parvo and she could have passed anyways but by him choosing not to give her antibiotics when on her transfer paper work it clearly said to give her next dosage at 2pm Monday when we dropped her off. So by not giving them to her he lowered her chance of making it because her antibiotics was what was helping/keeping her alive. So if you really care about your animal and see your animal as part of your family DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!! And top of it they are all rude and do not care. When we confronted him about the antibiotics he was very rude to us.
Do not go here. The visit is awful as soon as you walk in the door. The people at the front desk are rude and couldn't care less about what you're there for. You weigh your own animal. Doctor is a joke and very rude. I took my dog here and was told he has staff infection after 2 seconds of the doctor inspecting him. After that diagnosis, I took my dog to a vet back home and was told it was nothing more than a skin allergy and 2 weeks of benadryl cleared it up and never came back. Pretty big difference don't you think?
